Chia-Oatmeal Biscuit Delight
(1 Servings)What you’ll need
1 | 15 g chia seeds |
2 | 30 g oat bran |
3 | 15 g basil biscuits, crushed |
4 | 30 g dates, pitted and chopped |
5 | 20 g coconut cream |
6 | 10 g coconut butter |
7 | 20 g all-purpose flour |
8 | 50 ml milk |
9 | 1 egg |
10 | 10 g sugar |
11 | 2 g baking powder |
How to make it
Prep the Chia: In a small bowl, combine the chia seeds with 50 ml of milk and let them soak for about 10 minutes until they form a gel-like consistency. This will add a lovely texture to your dish!
Mix the Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the oat bran, crushed basil biscuits, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and sugar. This blend gives a delightful earthy base to your biscuits.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, beat the egg, then stir in the soaked chia mixture, coconut cream, and melted coconut butter until well combined. The coconut adds a rich creaminess to the mixture.
Fold in the Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Then, fold in the chopped dates. They will provide sweet bursts of flavor in every bite!
Bake: Preheat your oven to 180°C. Pour the mixture into a small greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Your kitchen will smell heavenly!
Cool and Serve: Once baked, allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Chef’s secrets
For an extra touch, sprinkle some crushed basil biscuits on top before baking for added crunch and flavor.
If you prefer a sweeter dessert, feel free to increase the sugar to taste!
