Cheesy Beef Padya
(1 Servings)What you’ll need
1 | 150 g ground beef |
2 | 50 g Mexican cheese blend |
3 | 100 g Padya (a type of flatbread or tortilla) |
4 | 1 tablespoon olive oil |
5 | 1 teaspoon taco seasoning |
6 | Salt and pepper to taste |
7 | Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish) |
How to make it
Sizzle the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, toss in the ground beef. Cook it for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until it’s browned and no longer pink. The rich aroma will start to fill your kitchen!
Season It Up: Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef, adding a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to ensure the meat is evenly coated with the spices, allowing it to simmer for another 2 minutes to absorb all those fantastic flavors.
Melt the Cheese: Reduce the heat to low, then sprinkle the Mexican cheese blend generously over the seasoned beef. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 2-3 minutes to let the cheese melt beautifully, turning into a luscious blanket over the beef.
Warm the Padya: While the beef is melting away under the cheese, heat another pan over medium heat. Lightly warm the Padya for about 1 minute on each side, just until it’s pliable and slightly toasted.
Assemble and Serve: Place the warm Padya on a plate, then spoon the cheesy beef mixture right in the center. Feel free to add a sprinkle of fresh cilantro on top for a pop of color and flavor. Fold the Padya and enjoy every delicious bite!
Chef’s secrets
For an extra kick, consider adding some chopped jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to your beef while it's cooking.
If you like your cheese extra gooey, feel free to add a bit more than the recommended amount—there's no such thing as too much cheese!
